O Monte da Raposinha é uma propriedade familiar situada em Montargil, Portalegre, no norte da região do Alentejo. Localizado 500m a juzante da barragem de Montargil, o Monte da Raposinha conta com 150 hectares, dos quais 15 foram convertidos em vinha.
Monte da Raposinha is a family owned property located in Montargil, Portalegre, in the north of the Alentejo region. Located 500m downstream from the Montargil dam, Monte da Raposinha covers 150 hectares, of which 15 have been converted into vineyards.
HISTÓRIA
Em criança, Rosário Ataíde, actual proprietária, era carinhosamente apelidada pelo seu pai de “Raposinha”, daí o nome da propriedade e de alguns dos vinhos, não só uma homenagem ao próprio pai mas também a toda a família.
Com uma produção de 120.000 garrafas por ano, o rumo da gestão e enologia estão entregues a João Nuno Ataíde - um dos três filhos de Rosário Ataíde e do seu marido Nuno Ataíde – e à enóloga e sua mulher Paula Bragança Ataíde.
As a child, Rosário Ataíde, current owner, was affectionately nicknamed by her father “Raposinha”, hencethe name of the property and some of the wines, not only a tribute to her father but also to the whole family.
With a production of 120,000 bottles per year, the direction of management and oenology is delivered to João Nuno Ataíde - one of the three children of Rosário Ataíde and her husband Nuno Ataíde - and to the winemaker and his wife Paula Bragança Ataíde.
Sendo o objectivo maior a produção de vinhos de qualidade e carácter - capazes de representar o terroir único envolvente e a fresca influência da barragem - a preocupação com a natureza e ecosistema estão também sempre presentes através de uma viticultura sustentável e ecologicamente consciente, estando toda a área de vinha certificada em modo de produção biológico.
O Monte da Raposinha, através do seu trabalho, pretende assim representar uma nova vaga nos vinhos alentejanos, aliando o respeito pela natureza, a singularidade do seu terroir e o trabalho cuidado na vinha e adega, de forma a criar produtos únicos e distintos.
The main objective being the production of wines of quality and character - capable of representing the unique surrounding terroir and the fresh influence of the dam - the concern with nature and ecosystem are also always present through sustainable and ecologically conscious viticulture. After harvesting by hand, already in the cellar, allgrapes are worked and vinified separately, thus respecting the unique and varietal character of each variety. Monte da Raposinha, through its work, intends to represent a new wave in Alentejo wines, combining respect for nature, the uniqueness of its terroir and thecareful work in the vineyard and cellar, in order to create unique and distinct products.
